First Steps in Codification of Terrorism and Its International Persecution

Summary/Abstract: After the Marseille assault of 6 October 1934, French government started a procedure at the League of Nations for counteractions to terrorist acts. By the end of the same year a special committee was formed with the purpose to draft the respective documents which would form the standard legal base for international persecution of this phenomenon. In three consecutive sessions in May 1935 . January 1936 . April 1936, two draft conventions . for persecution and prevention of terrorist activities and for establishment of International Court were prepared and specified. In November 1937 an International Conference was held, where the states participants defined their attitude to the problem.
