Summary/Abstract: The article examines the activities of Bulgarian orchestra players and ballet artists working during the Great Depression; of the transfer of Western cultural samples into the French and British mandated territories of Syria, Palestine and Egypt after the First World War; and of the technological revolution in transport and arts. The second accent is put on the communication of musicians and ballet artists with their colleagues, contractors, compatriots, etc. in the multicultural Levant. They facilitated the exchange of ideas and practices, favored the formation of lasting professional networks, gave impetus to new and synthetic creative pursuits, and built their reputation before unfamiliar audiences. The research uses a historical approach and is based on archival sources.
