Summary/Abstract: This article takes a closer look at situations of reserved offences in which recourse to the Apostolic Penitentiary is possible. In the case of individual offences, it is explained when they fall within its competence and when within the competence of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, how the request is to be sent to the Penitentiary and what is to be stated in it for each offence. The article also focuses on the way in which this oldest office of the Roman Curia works in the matter of reserved crimes.
