Summary/Abstract: In the first part of this study, we explore essential aspects of the political and social life in interwar Romania (education, the situation of ethnic minorities, especially in Bukovina, as well as some movements considered anarchistic etc.), relying on thorough readings of the contemporary press in Romanian and Ukrainian and various archival documents, while also examining how fiction literature has more or less faithfully represented these realities. In the second part of the study, we delve into the Daily Notes of Carol II, comparing the realities transcribed by the king with the subsequent representations of the same realities in fiction literature published in the Peopleʼs Republic of Romania (Zaharia Stancu), as well as in some historical works.
