Summary/Abstract: The annexation of the northern part of Bukovina and other territories by the Soviet Union in June 1940 and March 1944, respectively, significantly impacted the occupied regions' population. The author of the reviewed volume presents, based on unpublished documents and the media of the time, the way in which the Soviet authorities pursued the Russification of the province, analysing various instruments that the communists used to achieve their goals.
