Summary/Abstract: The project "Vzpomínková vyprávění jako zdroj společenské odolnosti," led by the Dialectological Department of the Institute of the Czech Language, focuses on the theme of crisis in the narratives and language of the oldest generation. Initiated in 2022, the project narrowed its focus to war and wartime crises due to events in Ukraine. It collects and transcribes senior citizens' narratives, using both existing archives and new recordings from field research. The project also produces podcasts, a dictionary of military slang, and educational materials for teachers. An interdisciplinary workshop held in Brno in October 2024 discussed topics like war conflicts, political pressure, and crisis reflection in language and literature. The project aims to maximize practical use of its outputs, contributing to both academic research and public education. The collected testimonies are expected to serve as a basis for future scholarly and popular outputs.
