Determinants of entrepreneurship of women based on selected countries

Summary/Abstract: The objective of the article is to present determinants exerting an impact on the decisions about undertaking economic activities by women, also including the determinants and statistical data referring to entrepreneurship of women in selected countries. The first part of the article presents the classification of entrepreneurship determinants. On this basis entrepreneurship of women is characterized in selected Islamic countries and in the so-called western culture. In order to perform substantive comparisons the countries from two different kinds of economic development and cultural areas have been purposefully selected, which has facilitated distinguishing differences in determinants underlying the decisions about initiating economic activities by women and attempting assessment whether, and to what extent, professional activation of women can result in sustainable economic development.
