Summary/Abstract: The aim of the of this article is to present milk prices in Poland and other countries in the world (mainly in the EU), to trace and describe the mechanisms of price stabilization occurring at the national level and the EU and to present mechanisms to stabilize milk prices in procurement proposed by the dairies. As a result of the research, administrative regulations (milk quota mechanism) that contribute to the relative stability of the milk market in the EU are being withdrawn. The proposed so-called “Milk package” to a small degree will contribute to the inhibition of fluctuations in the world prices of milk. In this situation, dairies and farmers have to work deeper and try to counteract the disadvantages.
