Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to examine the content of so called Litterae Indipetae Polonae, a collection of Latin letters written by Jesuits from Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and addressed the Superior General of the Society of Jesus, asking for the abroad missions, especially to the Crimea region. Though, particularly about the letters examined in this paper is the fact that some of the polish Jesuits chose to cross Moldavia on their missionary path to the country of the Tartars during the 17th century. Therefore, analyzing their letters, we tried to discover the reasons why they chose this path. Moreover, by examination the literary content of the letters, this study captures the spirit of religious fever of Polish Jesuits and identifies the source of their inspiration.
