Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on social skills and presents the results of a scientific study showing the degree of their formation in preschool children. An innovative method for the Bulgarian educational system is proposed as the basis for developing social skills, namely the team task. The research aims to determine what effect the teamwork method has on children's social competence, including cooperation, communication, empathy and conflict resolution skills. A combination of qualitative and quantitative methods were used, which provide a complete picture of the effectiveness of teamwork for the formation of social skills: observation, interviews, surveys, tests for the assessment of social skills, document analysis. The diagnostic procedure was developed and conducted in connection with the acquisition of a second qualification degree.
