THE TEACHER – THE TRUE ENLIGHTENER

Summary/Abstract: In the 13th century history of our country, there are holidays that we associate with great events. The Day of the National Awakeners, November 1st, is one of these holidays, although we do not associate it only with a specific event. It occupies a worthy place in the holiday calendar of Bulgarians. Many people believe that only our revivalists and writers can be called “awakeners”, but for me this concept is broader. In addition to the educators who worked in school and cultural institutions in the past, I also include: modern teachers who teach knowledge to adolescents; creators of books and textbooks; cultural figures who, with their potential, create music, dances, poetic and prose works; all people who today help to preserve and develop education and culture.
