Summary/Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive assessment of the impacts of climate change onwater quality in wastewater systems using InfoWorks ICM software. As climate change continues topose significant challenges to urban infrastructure, understanding its impacts on water quality iscritical to effective adaptation and management strategies. The study uses InfoWorks ICM, a robustintegrated watershed modeling software, to simulate various climate change scenarios and analysetheir impacts on water quality parameters such as pollutant concentrations, dissolved oxygen levelsand microbial contamination. The analysis considers factors such as changing rainfall patterns,temperature fluctuations and their impact on the performance of wastewater treatment systems. Theresults highlight possible changes in water quality dynamics and identify areas of increasedvulnerability and potential sources of pollution. In addition, adaptation strategies such as theintroduction of green infrastructure, wastewater capacity building and real-time monitoring systemswill be assessed to determine their effectiveness in mitigating the negative impacts of climate changeon water quality. The results of this study contribute to the growing body of knowledge about theimpacts of climate change on water quality in wastewater systems and provide valuable informationfor policymakers, engineers, and urban planners to develop sustainable and resilient watermanagement strategies.
