Summary/Abstract: The paper gives an overview on the situation (in terms of ICT equipment) of courses dealing with information technology in the curricula for training social workers. The author summarizes the results of a survey done among faculty who teach ICT courses for would-be social workers. The survey was focussed on the following questions: how do faculty members assess their students’ knowledge in information technology; what type of courses are included in the curricula; how the technologies dealt with in the courses suit expectations; what is the provision of software and hardware (including infrastructure) like in the institutions; to what extent are requirements and course materials made available online.
