Summary/Abstract: Viorel Nicolescu knew everything that could be known—and something more, to use the famous words once said about Pico della Mirandola. He possessed knowledge but with the natural demeanor of someone more interested in his own ignorance, complemented by the joy of discovering another’s wisdom. Never have I encountered such openness toward others, such tolerance for another’s shortcomings, such a deep need for something beyond.
