Summary/Abstract: The analysis of the Draft Acts for amendment and supplement of the Protection againstDomestic Violence Act (№ 48-254-01-70 and № 48-254-01-72) includes assessing the laws,legislative gaps and weaknesses and needs of amendments, policies and the provision ofservices and good practices, with a view to recommending measures aimed at eradicatinggender-based violence against women and strengthening the implementation of the country’sinternational obligations on violence against women and women’s human rights.The analysisand recommendations were developed after an in-depth analysis of the situation in Republic ofBulgaria. The improvement of the preventing and combating violence against women anddomestic violence needs ensuring of fulfilment of all international and national standards inthis area, as they are stipulated in the acts.
