Summary/Abstract: The article at hand is a revision of the speech delivered by Ida Servatius, the president of the German-Saxon women association of Kronstadt (the political association of Saxon organized women), on October 1, 1929. In her speech, Servatius refers to the public voting right for communities from July 1929, according to which women in Romania were given voting right at the local level. Servatius illuminates the impact of the voting right for women, speaking both from the viewpoint of a woman as well as from the perspective of a minority. Towards the end of her speech she develops a strategy for the future socio-political cooperation of women. The article puts the speech in the historical context of various ethnic women movements and their socio-political efforts in Romania during the early 20th century. The focus of the article, however, is on the Transylvanian-Saxon community.
