Political risk and its effect on making foreign direct investment

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents political risk factors which have an effect on decisions connected with making foreign direct investment (FDI). Some authors think the governmental policies of host countries generate the highest threats to FDI. The study also presents the views of the concept and the assessment of political risk and its importance among other types of macroeconomic risk to FDI. The methods of assessment of this risk by international rating agencies are also discussed.
