Dievo gailestingumas Senajame Testamente
God’s Mercy in the Old Testament

Summary/Abstract: Gailestingumas kaip viena svarbiausių Dievo savybių geriausiai atsiskleidė per Jėzaus asmenį, tai patvirtina Naujo- jo Testamento tekstai. Senajame Testamente taip pat gausu Dievo gailestingumą liudijančių pavyzdžių, bet jie dau- geliui yra nežinomi. Taip sudaroma nuomonė, kad Senojo Testamento epochos Dievui nebūdingas gailestingumas arba jo apraiškos fragmentiškos. Straipsnyje siekiama išryškinti akivaizdų Dievo gailestingumą ir jo pasireiškimo pavyzdžius, pristatyti Dievo gailestingumo bruožus ir specifiką Senajame Testamente. Mercy is one of the essential attributes of God, most clearly displayed in the person of Jesus from Nazareth as de- scribed in the texts of the new testament. But the Old testament is also full of examples proclaiming god’s mercy. Most people are not familiar with them and treat God in the Old Testament as merciless with only some revela- tions of mercy. The article tries to reveal the evidence of god’s mercy in its different forms, to show its features and specify them in the Old Testament.
