Summary/Abstract: The lack of interest for the European Union revealed by the Euro barometers is highlighted by the absence of EU-related topics during the protests that took place in Europe in the last years. Although we encounter in Europe different forms of contemporary protests and several European countries dealt with street demonstrations, researchers could not connect these with the European Union, nor with European topics. This paper represents an analysis of the Romanian public agenda during the economic crisis, by pointing out the fact that the recent street demonstrations addressed mostly national topics. Through a content analysis of the national media coverage of the protests, we aim to investigate relation between national and European topics in Romania.
