A SHORT REVIEW OF THE CODIFICATION OF HANEFI JURISTIC DOCTRINE AND OTTOMAN QANUN FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT

Summary/Abstract: In this article the author offers an otline rview of the main streems of the formal codificattion (al-tadwin) that preserved Hanefi doctrinal juristic thought. Here are mentioned the most relevant names that initiated and carried the project of the codificationof Hanefi heratage. Thius the article elaborates the role and efforts of 'Abdullaha ibn Muqaffe made on state level codification, collection of legislative documents and the colection of fatwas. Administrative codification of qnuns in the Ottoman empire and the initiation of Majalla. The article attempts to give an overview of the begining and the developement of the leggislative thought of the Hanefi school that has been ann official source of the state legislature for meny centuries.
