Summary/Abstract: Written on the occasion of the 100th birthday of the multi-award-winning author Ilse Aichinger on November 11, 2021, the present paper aims to take a look at the texts of the author, who, after a long creative break between 2001 and 2004, were commissioned by the Viennese daily newspaper Der Standard and were subsequently published in book form by Fischer Verlag in 2005 under the title Unbelievable Journeys. The aim of the present paper is to explore the meaning of the journey for Aichinger in these prose miniatures, the relationship between the text content and the writing surface and the problem of classifying these extremely complex texts.
