The German Language in the Schoolscape of German-Hungarian Educational Institutions

Summary/Abstract: The use of visual language is particularly important in the education as they are part of linguistic and cultural socialisation. The subject of the study is to create a comprehensive picture of the linguistic landscape of the educational institutions of the German minority in Werischwar/Pilisvörösvár, in Hungary, in relation to the language levels. The central question of the study is, which linguistic levels in which proportion are present in the kindergartens, nationality primary schools and nationality grammar school of the German minority in the survey location. The proportion of German language, Hungarian language and German (Bavarian) dialects in the institutions will also be examined. The study is based on the analysis of photos taken by the researchers.
