Summary/Abstract: The text examines the blues and the song form in Afro-American musical culture. Subject of exploration is the correlation between verse and melody, and different types of blues form. The aim is to reveal what is exactly the blues form and the fluence of the poetic text over the rhythmic structure of the melody. In conclusion some inferences are made about the rhythm formation and metro rhythmic build of harmonic and melodic form of blues songs.
