Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the lexical field of religion in Nouchi, an Ivorian variety of French, as it appears in the Facebook posts of the Ivorian rap artist Nash. Having its origins in slang, Nouchi is characterised by a particular lexicon, derived from borrowings and hybrid creations, which can also be found in the field of religious discourse. After a brief presentation of the sociolinguistic context in the Ivory Coast, we will examine the religious content of Nash's posts on her Facebook page, and the reactions they generate in comments. We will then analyse the religious lexicon identified in the corpus from the point of view of its mode of formation, since it relies very little on terms of French origin in the same semantic field.
