Summary/Abstract: Protection of records significantly depends on the regulated legal framework, within which public archives may be appropriate, professional and timely action. Protection of records, as written in memory of the company is certain only if it is placed under institutional protection or the protection of the relevant archives. The issue of protecting and retrieving archival materials at different stages of economic transition in Hungary was significantly disrupted. While the socialist period legislative and really, jurisdiction over archival operations under the authority of archival institutions: it is a question of keeping archives were arranged. The state vertically controlled all flows in society, and therefore in the archives, and preservation of materials businesses. However, privatization, and the opening of bankruptcy and liquidation proceedings, the issue of protection of archives and its takeover is not an adequate, legally regulated way. The destruction of the system of protection of archives went a step further, when the expert questions sorting, and retrieving data protection called “Archival Corporations”. In this way, the irretrievably lost significant amounts of memory society, whether by their improper handling or termination of the work of the same, when significant amounts of archives left without adequate professional supervision. Most of the archival material is thus completely destroyed, which does not even exist and data analysis. Public archives took over only part of the archival documents, and since they are not involved in the timely resolution of these problems it also indirectly contributed to the fact that the fate of archives enterprises in transition is uncertain.
