Summary/Abstract: Documents of Pavle I Šubić, Ban of Croats and lord of all Bosnia, which, together with his sons Mladen II and Juraj of Split, Pavle of Trogir, and Grgur of Šibenik he proclaimed to Hrvatin Stjepanić, the duke of Donji Kraji and his descendants in Skradin, 21.2.1305. speaks about „nobleman’s faith and loyalty“, i.e. confirmation of friendship, safety, property and guarantee of assistance in case of war. Since it was found in the original it is understandable that its importance is greater, because it brings more data, compared to the previous two documents (from 1301. and 1304.) issued by Hrvatin. Any document which was thought to be lost and in the meantime we found the original, as is the case with this document, provides an abundance of high-quality and reliable data for comparing the earlier analysis but also for a new comprehensive analysis by the original. Comprehensive analysis of a document involves internal and external (diplomatic) analysis, the translation of the text and the importance of the documents as historical sources. External analysis is particularly important for this document because it contains the preserved two seals, one sided and two-sided, which is otherwise rare because usually seals are lost. The form in which the document is written does not deviate from the form in which two earlier papers (1301. and 1304.) are written because all three are talking about granting privileges to Hrvatin. The document contains most of the formulas as follows: intitulation, promulgation, inscription with an oath, disposition, oath with the sanction, corroboration and dates. Some of the were omitted such as invocation, salutation, devotion, etc., which is a reflection of the circumstances and the time at which the document was created and all of it’s impact on the ruler’s office and the form in which it was written The content of the document guarantees the greatest privileges to Hrvatin and his family. This was probably influenced by changes at the military - political level and the hierarchy within Šubić family at the time when the document was created. Otherwise, the period in which the document was created (early 14th century) is one of the most turbulent in the history of medieval Bosnian state, because in this period there are very few surviving historical sources. For this reason, its original finding is very significant, because it can be compared and analyzed with previously published articles which are known to have errors, and sometimes affect the distortion of historical images of some of the personalities and events.
