Summary/Abstract: Religious education has been and remains an essential pillar of human formation, offering a unique moral and spiritual framework, different from other forms of education. Christianity, by its nature, affirms the possibility of educating and forming the human personality, and encourages active positive transformation through its teachings. This process is not limited to the dimension of intellectual knowledge, but involves the entire human being, aiming at his spiritual perfection. An important aspect of religious education comes from its contribution to the moral formation of the individual. The values promoted by Christianity – love, compassion, forgiveness, respect for others – represent the foundation of a harmonious and balanced society. In a world where moral relativism tends to become a norm, religious education offers stable benchmarks, based on the teachings of Holy Scripture and the exemplary lives of the saints. These benchmarks are not imposed by coercion, but proposed as models to follow, aiming to improve character and interpersonal relationships.
