Summary/Abstract: The study Film as a Reflection of the Subject makes a theoretical comparison between the film image and the invariant model of the mirror. It is based on a theoretical as¬sumption according to which a subjective perception is projected on a screen in the presented cineworlds. A conventional mirror and from it ensuing scheme of duplicated material signs reflected in it, is an example of autoreference. Reflected signs imply the mirror and in return, the mirror hints at the reflected sign, which happens directly without a possibility to change the elements in the system. The principle of a "film" mirror may be regarded as an example of telereference. In film, the original autorefe¬rence relationship is transformed to telereference relationship. In the process of the cinema-goer experiencing the film plot, psychological duplication takes place when its subject is translated to film sign systems. For instance, in case of a horror, the viewer is the vehicle of fear and he/she identifies himself/herself with the film character, who is just a sign material configuration in the film image.
