Summary/Abstract: The state of democracy in Serbia today is worse and harder then the crisis. Above and beyond all it is marked by systemic bankruptcy and civilization regression. Serbia is currently surviving a three-level drama: social, developmental and state. This is the leading point from which every analysis of its democratic conditions needs to be undertaken. Democracy is reduced to unstable procedure that goes in favor of the richest and most wealthy part of Serbia’s population. Its future is uncertain. A multiplicity of empirical observations testify that majority of citizens are dissatisfied with the general condition of Serbia’s society and its level of democracy. This condition for the most part comes forth from the nature of the constituted system and prevailing incapability, as well as from the fact that governing elites as a whole are historically not up to date. From this, a possibility of authoritarian turn as well as one of social anger arise.
