Summary/Abstract: “Fotoplastikon II” is a continuation of a project from the borderland of literature, collecting and photography. The first “Fotoplastikon”, composed of a hundred mini-essays/poetic prose dealing with old photographs, was issued by the Wydawnictwo W.A.B. publishing house in 2009, by sheer coincidence at the same time as “Dno oka”, an analogous book by Wojciech Nowicki. The author wrote the second volume from 2012 and in a similar manner: starting with old photographs, postcards, and stereo photography he spins the story of the last two centuries of culture, society, and history, while attaching particular attention to assorted fractures and discontinuity appearing in seemingly innocent images and referring the spectator to often disturbing contexts.
