Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of the analysis of punctuation marks used in messages sent by postcards in the second half of the 20th century. Nearly eight hundred punctuation errors were analyzed. Based on the comparison of the research material with the rules of Polish punctuation, examples of errors in writing commas, periods, question marks, colons and dashes were shown. Additionally, the tendency to treat the end of a line as a kind of punctuation mark. Unlike most previous studies on punctuation errors occurring in texts written at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century, the results of the study show which contexts caused the most difficulties for Poles in the use of punctuation in the second half of the 20th century.
