Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the poetic perception of the Old Bridge in Mostar, a supreme work of architectural art. It was sung from the 16th century in the poetics of Islamic mysticism to the thought-aesthetic intentions of modernism and the poetics of war poetry. Poets deciphered its beauty and meaning. The bridge was destroyed in the war in 1993, as well as other cultural and historical monuments, the heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina, from the Ottoman period. Poetry of painful resistence and protest has been the response to a vandal act of darkening the mind and stumbling humanism. The restoration of the new Old Bridge, again, is blessed with verses. History remembers the destroyers of civilizations – Persepolis and Carthage and Nero, who burned Rome in his madness.
