Summary/Abstract: In the absence of immediate descendants of the Proto-Slavic *supti, *sъpǫ ‘сипя’ (‘pour, strew’) in Bulgarian, the verb’s derivatives are essential for the reconstruction of the Proto-Slavic lexical stock. The article proposes an etymological interpretation of the dialect verb насу̀не ‘(of flies) lay eggs in or on meat, fish’ < *nasupnǫti as a derivative of the Proto-Slavic *supti, *sъpǫ ‘pour, strew’.
