Summary/Abstract: Emotions are the key to both private and business life, as they provide information on feelings, intentions, and motivations. They are complex subjective, biological, purposeful, and social phenomena that affect thoughts, behaviours, and relationships. Emotions arise as a response to various challenges and can help an individual adapt to complex new situations. In the business world, recognizing and managing emotions is an indispensable factor of success. When leaders are conscious of emotions (not only their own, but also other people’s), they are able to incite productivity and employee engagement. Cognitive, emotional, and compassionate empathy play an important role when it comes to building strong relationships and achieving organizational goals. Empathetic leaders are capable of listening, understanding, and supporting their teams, thus fostering a positive work environment and positive results, which are crucial to any successful business. This paper reviews the relationship between emotions, emotional intelligence, and employee success within the business context. Furthermore, this paper examines the existence of a statistically significant connection between emotional intelligence and business
