Summary/Abstract: The ongoing war in Ukraine has significantly shifted the priorities of its citizens. Initially shocked by the large-scale invasion in February 2022, the Ukrainian society experienced a mix of euphoria from unexpected successes and disappointment from unmet expectations. Despite a slight decline in confidence, over 80% of Ukrainians still believe in victory, though many now foresee a long-term struggle. The public’s tolerance for restricted rights and concentrated power is waning, and there is a growing demand for changes in information policy and power distribution. Criticism of the government, particularly President Zelensky, is seen as beneficial to Russia. The issue of Zelensky’s “illegitimacy” due to the extended wartime presidency is expected to be exploited by Russian propaganda. The Ukrainian parliament’s failure to set demobilization timelines has demotivated many soldiers. Despite these challenges, a significant portion of the population remains committed to mobilization and supporting the army. Recent polls indicate a preference for democracy over strong leadership, a shift from the previous year.
