Summary/Abstract: In 2024, Ukraine remains embroiled in a decade-long war, with the Russian-Ukrainian conflict deeply rooted in issues of language, culture, and media. Russian propagandists have weaponized these elements to justify their aggression, portraying their actions as a fight against “Nazism.” The unique evolution of Russian society, which skipped the gradual development seen in European countries, has led to a blend of modernity and medieval brutality. Telegram, founded by the Durov brothers from Russia, has become a significant tool for Russian influence, especially after the blocking of other Russian social networks in Ukraine. Despite its popularity, Telegram poses serious threats due to its anonymity and lack of accountability, becoming a haven for criminal activities and propaganda. The Ukrainian government and international community face challenges in regulating such platforms, highlighting the need for effective legislation and international cooperation to combat these threats.
