Summary/Abstract: In the historical context of the struggle for supremacy at the Lower Danube, the Prut campaign, from July 1711, is of considerable importance. Although the sources related to this episode were edited for their most, the discovery of new documents is not of rare occurrence. This latter category also includes the letter of Lwòw, written on 24 September 1711, by J. N. Monau de Brascy and addressed to Brigadier Frise. It describes the events of July 1711, that took place in the area of the Prut river. The aforementioned document, made available to the scientific world only in 1992, by the English historian R. L. Lewitter, has been little known or accessible to Romanian historians. As a result, the translation of this letter into Romanian is very useful and adds some new information to the documentary fund related to the Russian-Turkish military clash of Stănileşti (18-22 July 1711).
