Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the 2015 performance Antisocial by the Department of Drama and Theatre Studies at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, focusing on its techniques and intended e!ects. It highlights the use of active art techniques from community theatre, employed by director Bogdan Georgescu in both writing and staging. The performance is explored as Brechtian, particularly through its use of estrangement effects like the Fabel— expressed in this performance as a dialectical con"ict between dialogical and monological attitudes— and other features that emphasise the deliberately artificial nature of the representation of reality. Ultimately, I have shown a direct link between these estrangement techniques and the performance’s call for social change, highlighting the challenges of dialogue between and within generations and paving the way for a dialogue of change to begin once the performance ends.
