Summary/Abstract: According to Karl Klein, the first part of the work focuses on the battles on the Western Front from November 1795 to October 1796, between the French and Austrian Forces (including Romanian border guards). Consecutively, light is being shed on the personality of the French general, Marceau, emphasizing his injury and death in September 1796. The final part highlights observations concerning the tribute paid to General Marceau, as well as the tight connection between his name and that of the actress Sophie Marceau.
