Summary/Abstract: Various pragmatic misunderstandings can be observed in Szekler's jokes. These misunderstandings are typical of the Szekler way of thinking. They are constructed by creating anti-maxims in contradiction with Grice's maxims. Szeklers do not want to lose their authority, try to hide their narrow-mindedness, or even emphasize their cunning nature. Knowledge of language misunderstandings and the worldview of the Szeklers helps to find the source of humor and to gain comprehensive knowledge about the world of the Szeklers.
