Summary/Abstract: Jaroslav Grosman, a hero of both anti-Nazi and anti-communist resistance, lived a life marked by extraordinary courage and resilience. During World War II, he engaged in sabotage against Nazi forces in Nová Paka, later fleeing to join the Czechoslovak army. His post-war opposition to the communist regime led to his involvement in daring operations, including an attempted kidnapping of a prominent politician. Despite brutal interrogations and a 15-year imprisonment, Grosman remained steadfast, supporting Charter 77 and advocating for justice. His legacy was honored with the Order of Tomáš G. Masaryk and a commemorative plaque in Roztoky u Jilemnice, where he spent his final years. Grosman's story is a testament to the enduring fight for freedom and democracy.
