Summary/Abstract: The missing documents of the ex-Soviet Union is the cause for the vagueness in the history of the XX century, because they are the connection between the parallel running processes in all Eastern Europe. And exactly that is the explanation of the higher interest to the Russian historiography, which is now hardly accessible. Until now the Russian historians were concentrated on the declassified sources from the period of the Stalinism in the Eastern Europe. The following historiografical overview considers only the fundamental documentary and publications, which contain new information about the Bulgarian historical development after the First World War. Its aim is to show the wealth and character of the found documents and the problems in the decodified source base. The purpose includes also the interpretation of the new sources in the generalized researches, which show not only the historical pattern of our country, but also some more lasting social and cultural peculiarities. The published Russian document collections make the impression of selective approach in declassifying the archives and data, which modify the Soviet influence on the internal Bulgarian policy. Namely this approach is the reason for some differences in the conclusions and characteristics in the today’s Russian and Bulgarian researches about the processes and events from the recent past.
