Summary/Abstract: The paper compares two novels – The Remainder of the Day and Six Days, or the Crown of the House of Ostrozki – in order to show in them the newest artistic method of reinterpreting the six-day period. The biblical legend about the creation of the world formed the basis of the first six days, which were written by theologians of the 3rd–7th centuries. According to researchers, such works had a sacred character. In novelistics of the 20th–21st centuries a kind of renewal of the six days is observed. For comparison, the works of authors who have a lot in common are selected: Kazuo Ishiguro and Petro Kralyuk are already experienced writers, have a lot of prose works in their works; the work of both artists is recognized by society (British – laureate of the Nobel Prize in Literature, Ukrainian – laureate of numerous national awards); contemporaries who are not afraid to experiment with plots, heroes, eternal themes, genres
