Summary/Abstract: The project “Forgotten Textures – Historical Plasterwork” is a practical research initiative launched by the Pro Patrimonio Foundation in 2019. Its aim is to better understand the use, application methods, and characteristics of artificial stone renders from the interwar period and earlier, ultimately leading to improved conservation of these materials. By collecting and analysing samples from Bucharest and Timișoara, along with conducting empirical tests supported by technical literature, the project focuses on consolidating, repairing, cleaning, and completing such renders. This approach helps deepen the understanding of these materials and provides the knowledge needed to preserve both their technical and aesthetic qualities.
