Summary/Abstract: Contrary to the constitutional status of the Province of Vojvodina, the Draft Statute is a document which provides independence of this territory, separating it from Serbia in its stipulations concerning the territory, official language and alphabet, capital and international legal subjectivity of Vojvodina. The statute does not acknowledge its being a bylaw, which has to be in accordance with the Constitution of Serbia and its laws; instead, there are several examples of its being outside the laws and the Constitution. It usurps the original jurisdiction and transgresses the constitutional and legislative system of the Republic of Serbia. Since the Draft Statute is obviously not in accordance with the Constitution, the Constitutional Court will have to form an opinion about it.
