Summary/Abstract: This article examines the reporting of the Neues Tag, the most important German‑language daily newspaper in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, which was published in Prague from 1939–1945. Three complexes of reporting are analysed: the reaction to the student protests in October and November 1939, which led to the closure of all Czech universities, the policy of publicising anti‑Semitic measures, which documented the exclusion and persecution of Jews, and the change in war reporting from the triumphant initial reports to the admission of retreat and defeat.
