VEGETAL MOTIFS IN THE DECORATION INTERIOR FABRICS – SOURCES AND RESEARCH SPACES

Summary/Abstract: Most traditional fabrics contain symbolic, realistic, and highly stylized phytomorphic images. The issue of semantics andsymbolic message through the application of vegetation images in traditional textiles is fundamentally complex and still under-researched to its full value. To decipher the content of these motifs, it is necessary to search for their sources, as numerousand ancient as they may be. The answer to these questions must primarily be sought in Romanian mythology, folklore, archaeological sources within the research space, as well as in the history and philosophy of religions within the Eurasian region. The works of researchers from the Republic of Moldova and Romania have proven to be particularly useful in the respective fields.
