Summary/Abstract: The determinants of well-being among teachers in the context of the educationprocess are a niche topic. Usually, all methodological and scientific studies focus on the well-being of adolescents in the school environment, forgetting about the people who lead theeducational process, i.e. the teachers. The following text pays special attention to the analysisof teachers’ well-being, taking into account such components as psychophysical factors, workorganisation and culture, and environmental factors. The considerations of this article alsoconcern the support system for teachers, or rather the lack of it, the workload, the interdisciplinaryrelationships that impinge on the subsequent subjective feelings and the educational processitself. Financial conditions, opportunities for professional development and the appreciation ofthe individual teacher’s commitment are also very important factors. The conclusions drawnfrom the answers provided by teachers suggest that we have a very significant problem withwell-being of those who are on the front line of education, and consequently we cannot expectan increase in teacher commitment or long-term effects in teaching.
