Summary/Abstract: The present paper investigates the barriers and opportunities faced by students with disabilities during the transition to online remote and (back) to onsite higher education, in order to formulate proposals for an inclusive hybrid post-pandemic university. The paper is based on an action research project that took place in a Romanian university in 2022-2023, involving the active participation of eight students with visual and physical disabilities, as well as chronic health conditions and social work and inclusive education researchers. Photo voice methodology, as well as in-depth semi-structured interviews was used. Visual and textual data were analyzed collaboratively by research team members and the results were presented to the participants in the form of member-checking, their feedback was incorporated into the present analysis. We identify barriers and opportunities of both onsite and digital remote education and then go on to formulate policy proposals that should be useful to universities seeking to capitalize on the lessons of the Covid-19 pandemic for a more inclusive university.
