Summary/Abstract: Perceived risk is known as one of the most important barriers in technology adoption. However, there is less literature analyzing perceived risk in relation with e-learning adoption. The present study aims to develop a scale to measure perceived risk in e-learning. The relevance of such research is motivated by the utility of such a measurement instrument, which allows to educational institutions to assess perceived risk before implementing an e-learning system. The level of perceived risk directly influences the level of e-learning acceptance among students. The methodology used in this study is appropriate to a quantitative approach. The sample was formed by 154 undergraduate business students which were interrogated about the risks they would perceive if they could enroll in an online Master’s program. Scale reliability analysis and factor analysis were used to test instrument. Further research should concentrate on acquiring validity for the scale and testing stability over time.
